March Clinic a Success - Provide Equine Accommodation
Our last clinic provided attendees with rider fitness training, ground work skills, obstacle courses, trail riding, 1 on 1 lessons a bit of sporting and barrels, the weekend was a great success.
The day started with rider fitness training in a little bit of a fog haze but that didn't deter everyone getting up at 7am. Then it was off for a shower to get ready for some classroom theory on 'Provide Equine Accommodation'. A couple of hours passed then it was time for some morning tea then back into the classroom for the second part of our lectures.
After lunch the afternoon progressed with ground work in the arena then everyone saddled up to ride for the 1 on 1 lessons with Debbie Pritchard in the undercover olympic size dressage arena. The weather was exceptionally kind and if not we were all safe undercover anyway.
Some did the obstacle course which some of the horse were a bit apprehensive at first but with patience and guidance all horses made it through. Great way to de sensitise your horse to new objects opening and closing gate, flower pots, posts, barrels and of course the mechanical bull.
We then sat around the camp table with the fire pit pumping away while everyone mingled and had dinner.
Day 2 Sunday set off with a beautiful trail ride around the property to come back to main facility for breakfast.
It was back to the classroom to finalise the workbook to get the Nationally Accredited Statement of Attainment for the unit ' Provide Equine Accommodation'.
After lunch there were more 1 on 1 lessons and a bit more working equitation.
The weekend concluded with being a success with the feedback from everyone that attended.
Giddy Up for our next clinic on 'Maintain Basic Equine Nutritional Health' 26th & 27th April 2014.
Look forward to seeing you there.
