The AEI team are now back in the office after a busy week at Equitana Sydney. The show went from the 7th -10th November and was a great success. We spoke to over 500 interested people in our Certificate III in Horsemanship and this afternoon our winner of our competition will be drawn. Some of the demonstrations AT Equitana were fantastic such as Pat & Linda Parelli , reining by David Simons and Waler Gunner, Double Dan , Australian Horse Ball team and many more. We gave away over 1000 free showbags over the 4 days. Roz from the Australian Equine Institute got to have a go of Horse Ball with the Australian Team. We have a video on our facebook page. For anyone that could not make equitana and would like some information sent to them please contact us on 1300 EQUINE.

Below are some of the highlights of Equitana!!!

International horseball Match - Australia vs UK Thursdays match, presented by the Australian Horseball Association, was amazing, with our Aussie players giving their all on home ground! The visiting UK team were all geared up and excited to be playing in Australia and riding Australian horses. But the home team won with Australia defeating the UK team 8 goals to 6. The best player award went to Ben Collett (Aus) and best horse was taken out by “Popeye”, who was ridden by Sam Coulman from GB

Reining Australia CRI3* World Equestrian Games Qualifier
The CRI3* WEG Qualifier was taken out by Kate Elliott and OP Whizzel Do, closely followed by John Wicks and Snippin Cash - both delivering beautiful reining patterns.

EQUITANA Australian Open Reining Championships The EQUITANA Australian Open Reining Championships provided crowds with a phenomenal display of Reining finesse as top Australian rider and horse combinations galloped fast and slow circles, executed perfect lead changes, spun at amazing speed and performed the quintessential reining manoeuvre, the sliding stop.
Warren Backhouse and Rocin on the Ranch took out first place with a score of 218.5. Warren's win is his fifth straight EQUITANA Australian Open Reining Championship Title.

Al Dunning's Horsemanship Clinic was a training treat for fans of any discipline. The master people and horse trainer showed us how solid foundation training can improve performance in any competition genre and his patience and encouragement to the riders in the clinic ensured they were comfortable and got the most out of their time with him.

MAN FROM SNOWY RIVER LEGENDS CHALLENGE The daytime program enabled visitors to enjoy the Man from Snowy River Corryong experience in air conditioned comfort! Winners from previous challenges teamed up in pairs today to complete the Packhorse and Shoeing, Stock Handling and Cross Country components of the EQUITANA Legends Challenge.
