At AEI our aim is to help you gain extensive knowledge and skills that will give you newfound confidence and improve your equine skills & education.
We offer two Nationally Recognised courses at both the Certificate II and Certificate III level, that can be completed via distance education using our interactive E-learning (Online) platform or via workbooks.

The course is completely self-paced, designed to allow anyone to be able to complete. This course is designed for ANYONE over the age of 15 that wants to learn more about their equine friend. We have many mature age students and school aged students complete the course.
From the casual horse rider wanting to increase their knowledge of horses, A school student looking to study Equine while in school, people looking for employment in the equine industry, parents of “horse mad” kids wanting to speak the same language, “nervous nellies” getting back into riding after a break wanting to feel more confident to the seasoned competitor looking to enhance their knowledge and skills

COURSE DELIVERY
Our course is delivered online via our unique study portal or via workbooks & can be completed in the comfort of your own home or at school from anywhere in Australia.
We do not offer face to face courses as this course is designed to be completed online and at home with your own horse or a loan horse.
UNITS OF COMPETENCY
The course is made up of 15 Units (+ HLTAID003 Provide First Aid) HLTAID003 Provide First Aid can be completed with any Registered Training Organisation in your local area.
Each unit has both theory and practical tasks with the practical tasks involve completing a series of tasks including handling, transporting, lunging, and administering First Aid for horses.

DURATION OF QUALIFICATION
This course is self paced and can be comfortably completed within 24 months.
PRACTICAL COMPONENTS
Each unit contains theory and practical components.
To complete the practical tasks within this course students are required to have access to at least three (3) calm, consistent and obedient horses. (These horses can be your own, borrowed or leased)
This course is designed for students to be able to complete from anywhere in Australia. To achieve this we use a variety of methods to conduct your practical assessments. These assessment methods include:
- Video submissions
- Third Party Reports/Observations
- Level One Equine Coach Observation Reports
- Projects and Portfolios
- Evidence of documentation
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
- All students will be required to undergo a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) quiz.
- Be 15 years or over at the time of entry into the course
- Appropriate level of physical stamina, strength agility and coordination
- Access to 3 calm, consistent and obedient horses
- Students will need to have access to a Level one equine coach and/or have a suitable supervisor over the age of 18 who can maintain safety while video footage of the tasks is taken.
